Melina Old Houses
This stunning accommodation is made of houses facing east, creating a 270 degree panorama over the island, its mountains, and the beautiful area of the Konterena village. Konterena is famous for its unique climate, making the summer cooler and the spring and autumn months milder. The famous beaches of Lefkada are easily accessible with the nearest beaches being in Vassiliki, at only a short drive of 4.5 Km away. The authentic property of Melina was originally built in 1864, then rebuilt in 1905, and has now been fully restored in 2004. The traditional construction and character has been carefully maintained with great respect, as well as the original stone walls, which can reach up to 1 meter of thickness in some places. Most of the houses have been kept in the traditional way, but the kitchen and bathrooms are all modern with new fittings. The houses as composed by the ground floor, where you will find kitchen with an eating area, a lounge room ending into a large outdoor terrace, a bedroom and a bathroom with toilet and wash basin, and the first floor, with one bedroom and a bathroom with toilet, washbasin, shower and bathtub.
